The familiarity of it. Vintage. The colors you might find in an old polaroid. Singular, loose marks that would appear to be random. Striving for simplification that borders the abstract. It’s the space and movement between the figures that excites me. The quiet conversations between the obvious loud ones. I paint to create a connection with those that appreciate the absurd and smile when they see their own stories in my paintings.
